Monday the 2nd of May marked the official opening of Stanley’s newly built childcare facility for Stepping Stones Ltd, however due to the rapid spread of Covid through the community Atty and Vicky unfortunately had to postpone. With great excitement, they are now happy to report that the Nursery will open today, Thursday 12th.

Sharon Gilbert started trading under SG Accounts 5 years ago. With a wealth of accounting experience, on April 1st 2017 Sharon made the decision to branch out with her own business after establishing that there was a market for another accounting firm in the Islands.

 

Sea Lion Island is the most southerly inhabited Island in the Falkland Islands. The 9km2 Island is home to a rich variety of wildlife. The Island is a designated National Nature Reserve as of 2017 and is recognised as one of twenty-two internationally Important Bird Areas in the Falkland Islands. In July 2022, Micky Reeves and Sarah Crofts will celebrate their 5-year anniversary managing Sea Lion Island under their company Wild Falklands Ltd.

 

 

April 2022 marks the 10-year anniversary of Pro-Install, with Rose’s Coffee Shop operating for one year in May! Fantastic milestones for truly successful Stanley businesses.

 

FIDC were delighted to attend a Dragon’s Den session organised by Year 6 students from the Infant and Junior School & Camp Education on the 22nd of March.

The FIDC Development Team were thrilled to attend the FICS Careers Day on the 17th of March. Louise, Sian and Jane offered a quick presentation explaining who FIDC are and what they do, and followed up with an interactive workshop session: Let's Create a Business Plan!  

 

The Role of the Director and the Board was the subject of a new training course organised by FIDC in March and delivered by the Institute of Directors.
